import TV headend playlist into another TVHeadend server
Added by Paul Barnett over 2 years ago
Hi all
Does anyone have any idea how to export one tvheadend playlist so that it is importable, and plays in another?
I have read somewhere that playlists need to exported and something about streams being piped as MPEG-TS.
I have three TVHeadend servers in different locations worldwide that I want to link together.
The two TVheadend servers are in the geographical locations of the channels being streamed, and the third is within my country for my local distribution.
How can I get the playlists to automatically export with the pipe://ffmpeg header which I believe what is needed to get this working. As if I import the URL as is, only one stream successfully shows as active. The rest simply refuse to work.
I consider myself computer literate, but this seems slightly out of my grasp.
Would someone please be able to advise me.
Thanks

A little more detail would be helpful. What exactly are you doing to achieve the above?

You simply just have to export the m3u8 from your other servers, add credentials to the m3u8, and import it to your "central" tvh.
If I'm understanding correctly what you are trying to do, pipe is not required.

There is no M3U8, HTS do not support HLS output yet.
correct way:
server side:
Enable persistent authentication to user account on server.
enable both digest and plain authentication for users
client side:
add IPTV Automatic network
add http://user:[email protected]:9981/playlist/auth/channels
map channel's
