bintray mpmc repository gives 403

Added by Bart Grefte over 3 years ago

After having not updated my Pi in a while, I noticed that the bintray mpmc repository for tvheadend no longer seems to work, apt keeps getting a 403 forbidden.

According to https://tvheadend.org/projects/tvheadend/wiki/AptRepositories that repository should still be up, but the link I've got in the sources file ( deb https://dl.bintray.com/mpmc/deb raspbianstretch stable-4.2 ) gives a 403 and the link listed on the wiki page ( https://bintray.com/tvheadend ) redirects to https://jfrog.com/center-sunset/ where a search for tvheadend doesn't turn up anything.

So... is the bintray repo now gone and is the wiki-page out of date or is there something else going on?

This may be way out of my area, but I would recommend first going to 4.3 and not using 4.2 stable. There are many updates and I have been using 4.3 for about 5 years. On my ubuntu, I use a debian version at
https://apt.tvheadend.org/unstable
BUT ... have no idea if the version of debian I use would work on an RPi. Good luck.

Well, it seems bintray is completely gone: "As of May 1 we have sunsetted Bintray", got this link after I emailed about it: https://jfrog.com/blog/into-the-sunset-bintray-jcenter-gocenter-and-chartcenter/
So the wiki is out of date, were can I report that?

As for updating to 4.3, I would have to find a working repo for ARM/Raspberry first.

edit: Just tried "deb http://apt.tvheadend.org/stable raspbian-stretch main" but was stuck on connecting, several tries later:
Unpacking tvheadend (4.2.8-36~g5bdcfd8ac~raspbianstretch) over (4.2.6-84~g81f56cc89~raspbianstretch) ...
Setting up tvheadend (4.2.8-36~g5bdcfd8ac~raspbianstretch) ...
that one seems to work :)
