Anyone care to share a working (Swedish/Comhem) setup ?

Added by Fredrik Larsson over 12 years ago

Hello all

I'm about to buy a HTPC setup and want to add a TV-tuner.
I noticed the screenshots on the front page and they seem to show a working setup for Swedish Comhem, just the setup I need.
Can anyone tell me which setup was used or share an other working setup for Comhem ?

I'm using comhem as my provider, and after some trouble lately, I managed to get it working again. Comhem is currently changing the muxes and that caused issues with the scanning.

What do you need? HW-specs? tvheadend config?

Thanks for answering! :)

Exactly!
I'm in the buying stage right now and are looking for confirmed working HW and driver info.
I will off course need config "suggestions" too when the time comes and happily accept any pointers to such info for the suggested HW :)

Cheers

I'm using a TerraTec Cinergy 1200 DVB-C, a single receiver PCI card. It has been working flawless in my htpc with ubuntu (currently 11.11).
There are some PCIe boards on the market, but I haven't found one with linux support (which is a shame).

I tried some USB receivers for DVB-T/boxer, but switched to PCI. The antenna cables had a tendency to pull out the usb module from the htpc.

Using tvheadend as backend and xbmc-pvr as frontend.

Sweet! That's the setup I'm thinking about, too bad it doesn't seem to be available for purchase anymore :(

What does it mean that comhem is changing the muxes?
My card does not scan in myth and does not show up in tvheadend.
(Pinnacle 50i)
It is probably not related but please explain.

Comhem is changing mux frequencies and constellation (to QAM256). This change has been introduced in different phases through the sweden and it caused some troubles to scan with tvheadend since the mux information was/is outdated.

Isn't the Pinnacle 50i an analogue tv tuner? You need to purchase a DVB-C capable card for ComHem (or DVB-T/T2 for Boxer),

I have analog basic cable in the new house, same as in the old flat.
The card works with win7 and on linux in tvtime. It seems to have a mpeg decoder but still does not work.

But now we get off the original topic. I guess my card is outdated someway or another.
I guess trying to do analog 2012 could be trouble enough....

What should be done in tvheadend to apply with the changes done by comhem?

I added the "Network ID" for my area in the "NIT-o Network ID:" field. Should I do anything else?

On topic: I am using a PCI Terratec Cinergy C HD and would definitely not recommend it.
