tvheadend or VLC issue? Wrong codec used

Added by Achim Köhler about 4 years ago

I installed tvheadend on Raspberry Pi 4 with
OS is Raspbian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)
Linux raspberrypi 5.4.72-v7l+ #1356 SMP Thu Oct 22 13:57:51 BST 2020 armv7l GNU/Linux

tvheadend is installed via 'apt-get install tvheadend'
Version 'HTS Tvheadend 4.2.8-34~g24a2f59e9'
Installed as described in
https://www.raspberry-pi-geek.de/ausgaben/rpg/2019/04/fernsehen-mit-dem-raspberry-pi-dvb-tv-hat/
and
https://buyzero.de/blogs/news/raspberry-pi-dvb-tv-hat-tv-headend-dvb-t2-in-deutschland-einrichten
The receiver is TV HAT (uHAT) Modul, Sony CXD2880 #0 : DVB-T #0

I am using VLC Media Player V3.0.9.2 on another Linux machine to watch the streams from the Raspberry Pi.
If watching ATV2 I can see the video stream, everthing is okay. I got the following information from VLC:

ATV 2 [Programm 14508]
Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (h264)

The strange thing is, when watching e.g. 3sat HD I receive the same information from VLC:

3sat HD [Programm 14505]
Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (h264)

But I know that 3sat is using h265.
So, is it an issue with tvheadend?
Or is it an issue with VLC?

What is info about stream inside TVH?

You can use FFPROBE to get most advanced information.

I am confused. Now it is working, VLC shows the right codec.
I haven't changed anything.
Maybe it is somehow related to powering off the Raspberry Pi by unplugging
the power supply.

It seems that it works randomly. One day it work, other day not :-(
I attached the output of ffprobe, I see that wrong codec is used.
Any hinst what is going on there?
