Anonymous user with ddns allowed network?
Added by h hans over 5 years ago
Hello All,
I have a small problem.
For the tv,s at my second home i am using the anonymous useraccount and smartiptv.
I have configured the allowed network with the ipadress from the remote home.
so far so good everything is working untill.............
My isp changes my ip adress (they do this randomly).
Is there any way to get the allowed network from the anonymous user configured with a hostname?
e.g. blabla.ddns.org
Thanks in advange for your help
Hans

VPN tunnel, L2TP or SSTP.

Obviously I don’t have a clue about what I’m doing since it’s my first time using a nas and I’m a total newbie when it comes to network stuff.
The manual is useless for this stuff. I’d appreciate some help because I’m ready to sell it and try something else....

Your ISP will use only few address blocks, so what you can do is allow access from your ISP's address block rather then specific IP's .... obviously set up strong password
or as suggested by Sean Sean acro
set up VPN server (thats what I am using from OpenVPN server running on the TVH machine [[https://github.com/Angristan/OpenVPN-install]] )
