Automating Installation of TVHeadEnd - Ubuntu 18.10
Added by Chris Gee almost 6 years ago
Hi,
I am building a HTPC machine with TVHeadEnd as part of it in Ubuntu 18.10. As an added bonus I am also building an installer script for all the software written in Python that remote connects to my HTPC from a desktop machine. So far everything I have needed to do has been command line based, however from what I know so far about TVH performing tasks such as pointing to an IPTV server, scanning the channels and pointing to an EPG all have to be done via the GUI.
For my automation, what I am interested in knowing is:
- Are there batch commands I can use for automating any of the TVHeadEnd configuration?
- Is there a configuration file and a How To explaining how to edit it to avoid needing to use the web interface?
I am aware of software such as Jenkins that allows you to run a macro recorder of sorts that grabs you mouse clicks and keystrokes to automate a deployment, but I would rather do it with TVH inbuilt functionality if possible.
Thanks
