TVheadend setup with HDHR OTA EIT EPG
Added by Jim Abernathy almost 6 years ago
I'm looking at the correct way to setup TVHeadend with HDHomerun networked tuners with only EIT EPG data.
I know how to do this with XMLTV Schedules Direct, but I need to be able to use EIT only for a particular application.
I've enabled the HDHR tuner in the DVB adapter tab.
I've added a network for OTA USA Center channel in Network tab, and linked it back to the HDHR in the adapter tab.
I made sure the EIT OTA grabber was enabled.
With the log window open, I can see scans going on and in EPG configuration -> Channels tab shows the local channels, but the EPG guide doesn't ever show the schedules.
What am I missing??

Are you shure that ATSC use EIT?
Isn't use PSIP: ATSC Grabber

i'm not sure of the proper name, but I've always used EIT on Mythtv to get the EPG OTA, but didn't understand it.
However, I disabled the EIT DVB grabber and enabled the PSIP ATSC Grabber and rebooted and I eventually got a schedule guide.
Thanks,
Jim A

No need to reboot just force it to scan
Configuration > Channel/EPG > EPG Grabber

There must be some delay built in. I first triggered the OTA grabbers, but nothing, then I rebooted. I guess there's just a delay.
