Piping into VLC

Added by balanga bar over 6 years ago

Is there a way to configure the 'Play this stream' icon?

At the moment, if I click on it, a file is downloaded, and that file contains a URL which VLC uses, so I need to click on the downloaded file. I'd prefer it the icon automatically launched VLC with the URL.

Is this possible?

This is related to how your web browser and media player are configured. This has nothing specific to do with Tvheadend.

I'm sure this is possible, but it would be dependent upon your personal system.

But how do you configure the actions of clicking on the Play icon?

The link shows

http://192.168.1.58:9981/play/stream/service/a23f3e7eefa16649fd0590883d299570?title=Golf%20Channel%20%2F%20AB%20Sat

On Chrome this downloads the file

a23f3e7eefa16649fd0590883d299570.m3u

which contains

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,Golf Channel / AB Sat

So what causes this file to be downloaded when you click on play?
