Help UK setup
Added by A C over 6 years ago
Hello,
I need some help with my setup.I had half hijacked this thread, trying to get the Crystal Palace BBC HD muxes working https://tvheadend.org/boards/4/topics/32123?r=32452#message-32452
I think my problem maybe a bit more fundamental.
I am using a PCTV 292e DVB-T stick http://amzn.eu/dKdWDOV
Running on ubuntu with TS Tvheadend 4.2.6-1~g74220185d~xenial
I have managed to get TV channels working
I have the following drivers in lib firmware:
rw-r--r- 1 root root 8192 Nov 6 2013 dvb-demod-m88ds3103.fwrw-r--r- 1 root root 2720 Apr 15 2014 dvb-demod-si2168-01.fwrw-r--r- 1 root root 2728 Jun 13 2014 dvb-demod-si2168-02.fwrw-r--r- 1 root root 2728 Apr 15 00:48 dvb-demod-si2168-02.fw.bakrw-r--r- 1 root root 28656 Jul 18 2014 dvb-demod-si2168-a20-01.fwrw-r--r- 1 root root 18888 Apr 15 00:49 dvb-demod-si2168-a30-01.fwrw-r--r- 1 root root 17576 Jul 18 2014 dvb-demod-si2168-a30-01.fw.palosaari.fi-deactivatedrw-r--r- 1 root root 15827 May 13 13:53 dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fwrw-r--r- 1 root root 13651 Sep 15 2016 dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw.4.0.19-deactivatedrw-r--r- 1 root root 15827 Sep 15 2016 dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw.4.0.25-deactivatedrw-r--r- 1 root root 6919 Apr 15 00:49 dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw.gfiberdvbsky-deactivatedrw-r--r- 1 root root 204 Apr 6 2017 dvb-demod-si2168-d60-01.fwrw-r--r- 1 root root 18643 Mar 30 2017 dvb-fe-xc4000-1.4.1.fwrw-r--r- 1 root root 12401 Mar 30 2017 dvb-fe-xc5000-1.6.114.fwrw-r--r- 1 root root 16497 Mar 30 2017 dvb-fe-xc5000c-4.1.30.7.fwrw-r--r- 1 root root 33768 Mar 30 2017 dvb-usb-dib0700-1.20.fwrw-r--r- 1 root root 8128 Mar 30 2017 dvb-usb-it9135-01.fwrw-r--r- 1 root root 5834 Mar 30 2017 dvb-usb-it9135-02.fwrw-r--r- 1 root root 50222 Mar 30 2017 dvb-usb-terratec-h5-drxk.fw
I can pick up DVB-T (non HD channels) using these 'gfiber' drivers:
https://gfiber.googlesource.com/vendor/firmware/+/33862f4ea12db4b6a6fcbce9c338b9497efb6f63/dvbsky-firmware
Notably a30-01 and b40-01 installed, wscan works and tvheadend finds channels - but no HD channels, see wscan:
https://pastebin.com/egF2xTQr
When using the palosaari drivers:
http://palosaari.fi/linux/v4l-dvb/firmware/Si2168/
Notably A30-01 and B40-01, tvheadend cannot find any channels and wscan fails.
When using the gfiber A30-01 and palosaari B40-01, wscan works see below and picks up channels, but TVheadend scan of muxes fails, leaving no channels, see wscan:
https://pastebin.com/f0AVzGQQ
The muxes I am using are at the frequencies attached.
Can some one please point me in the right direction.

What freq information are you using? Are you providing all of it or using AUTO?

I'm using the 292e stick for the Sandy Heath transmitter with no problems. These are my drivers:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8192 Nov 21 19:39 dvb-demod-m88ds3103.fw

Can you provide the md5sums and/or filesizes?
There are multiple versions of these drivers with the same name.

Unfortunately I don't remember where the files came from.

The b40 driver is the palosaari one.
Looks like your 02 and b40 are the same file.
Interesting that you do not have A30. My system does not like it when A30 is missing.
My understanding is b40 is the decoder and A30 is the tuner firmware.
I will try again tonight with your config.

I wonder if the manufacturer has changed the chipset without changing the part number? My stick was bought in 2014. Here is the dmesg log from a Raspberry Pi:

So going back to d8da7ff67cd56cd8aa4e101aea45e052 b40 restores my success on DVB-T muxes / channels.
But I still cannot get any DVB-T2 including PSB3.
PSB3 configured as follows:
