Unable to provide UNC value
Added by Wolfgang Buesser over 6 years ago
I am trying to configure tvheadend for the first time and am having a hard one:
tvheadend won't scan.
I have 2 old DVBS-PCI-cards:
[ 5297.814677] DVB: registering new adapter (TT-Budget/WinTV-NOVA-CI PCI)
[ 5297.816848] adapter has MAC addr = 00:d0:5c:23:c8:9f
[ 5297.817461] Registered IR keymap rc-hauppauge
[ 5297.817631] input: Budget-CI dvb ir receiver saa7146 (1) as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1c.2/0000:03:00.0/0000:04:01.0/rc/rc5/input104
[ 5297.817803] rc5: Budget-CI dvb ir receiver saa7146 (1) as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1c.2/0000:03:00.0/0000:04:01.0/rc/rc5
[ 5298.019195] budget_ci dvb 0000:04:01.0: DVB: registering adapter 1 frontend 0 (ST STV0299 DVB-S)...
They are running fine with VDR on the same computer (vdr is stopped of course).
The cards are being detected by tvheadend but when I try to scan the network nothing happens.
This is what I find in /var/log/messages:
Feb 12 20:01:04 virthost tvheadend6738: mpegts: 12551.5V in DVBS1 - tuning on ST STV0299 DVB-S #0 : DVB-S #0
Feb 12 20:01:04 virthost tvheadend6738: epggrab: 12551.5V in DVBS1 - registering mux for OTA EPG
Feb 12 20:01:04 virthost tvheadend6738: subscription: 0007: "scan" subscribing to mux "12551.5V", weight: 6, adapter: "ST STV0299 DVB-S #0 : DVB-S #0", network: "DVBS1", service: "Raw PID Subscription"
Feb 12 20:01:04 virthost tvheadend6738: linuxdvb: Unable to provide UNC value.
Any idea what is going wrong?

Is network created and attached to adapter,
is there muxes in network?

O.k.
I do receive some channels now.
I am in a building with multiple parties. So my DVBS-card connects to some switch.
Do I have to configure my card as Universal UNB only or as 4 port switch?
If I use 4-port switch, I can't assign to any Network (the menu entry is gone) -
so I use 'Universal UNB only'.
But I have the impression that a number of channels are missing.
I can't find ZDF on astra 19.2.
Is there any menu where I can search for a specific channel name?

Hi,
Have you found a solution?
I think, i have the same issue,
i my case i found out, that all "SD" channels on ASTRA 19.2 work very well,
and a few "HD" channels (mostly some regional program muxes from WDR) which use QPSK - same as all working SD channels.
for me, it looks like that there is some trouble with (or in relation with) 8PSK which is used typically for HD muxes on Astra 19.2
i use a LNB with Unicable and 2 Legacy "Universal LNB"
my TV twin tuner is connected directly to 2 unicable channels,
-> all HD channels work very well
my tv headend 4.3 (latest, ca 15 jan) runs on raspberry 3B, 2 USB SAT (Terratec S7),
one connected to Unicable, one connected to Universal.
tested both - no difference in result for 8PSK channels.
