Hardware for stream channels on 10 Android box in 1080p from dvb-s2
Added by azer 7 almost 7 years ago
Hello,
First of all, I apologize for the mistakes of spelling because I use Google Translate.
Can you help me choose the components to mount a PC to stream 10 channels from satelite 1080p (dvb-s2) on 10 boxes Android? Please?
My satellite cable serves me in DiSEqC:
1. Astra 19.2E -> A
2. Hotbird 13.0E -> B
3. Turksat 42.0E -> C
4. Nilesat 7.0W -> D
5. Eutelsat W3A -> D
Motherboard (I want a mini itx) : ?
CPU : ?
GPU : ?
RAM : ?
DVB-S2 Card : ?
PSU : ?
Can you help me, thanks in advance !

Add some more info.
Are clients is in lan or in internet,
aka do you need transcoding or no.

Hello,
Thank you for your quick response.
1. All Android box will be connected by wifi to the router, I do not intend to broadcast on the internet.
2. I found information on the internet that informs us that the bitrate of dvb-s2 is between 36 to 51 Mb/s and according to another source the bitrate is 80 MB/s. Unless I have not understood correctly, I think that transcoding is necessary to reduce the bitrate of the video stream for all channels. I also think that the 4K is not necessary because the channels are in 1080p only recently and that the channels 4K exist also in 1080p.
I also wonder the price difference in a stream hardware in 1080p and 4K ?
Thank you in advance !

This is speed on all services in transponder
SD 2-8 megabits
HD channels are 6-15 megabits
UHD 15-35 megabits

Hello,
Can I have a price bracket to know ?
1080p without transcoding price -> ?
1080p with transcoding price -> ?
4K without transcoding price -> ?
4K with transcoding price -> ?
If the UHD is 15-35 Mb / s, how much would a hardware that would transcode 4K into a lower bitrate cost? And 4K in 1080p with lower bitrate too?
I have a router of 1300 mb/s, so 10 Android box consume up to 350 mb/s for 4K if I'm not mistaken, I still have 950 mb/s for the internet connection, which is largely sufficient.
If it's expensive for me the 4K, I would be satisfied with a hardware in 4K or 1080p without transcoding.
Can I have a price bracket to know?
Thank you in advance !

Take some modern E5 Xeon (DDR4 models) or ZEN Opteron and no problem for 10 clients even more
but more easy to take Powerline devices and use cheap atom cpu to stream without transcoding

Hello,
As for the Atom you meant that a simple small Atom PC to which I would connect a dvb-s2 in usb would work without transcoding ? Like this one -> https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Corp-Compute-Stick-STCK1A8LFC/152806376614?epid=901254901&hash=item2393f844a6:g:DVYAAOSwUM5aHaDs
The problem of the E5 Xeon is that I found a motherboard format mini itx and it is expensive, for the opteron you wanted to say a Ryzen ?
Would an i5 7400 be enough to transcode from 4K to 1080p on 10 Android Box ? :
- ASRock H110M-ITX (i5 7400 it's not compatible with 100-series chipset)
- MSI B250I Pro
- i5 7400
- 2 x 4GB DDR4
- PSU 300 watt
- dvb-s2 PCIe (can I put a 1x, 4x, 8x PCIe card into a 16x slot ?)
Thank you in advance !

Hello,
Sorry for the translation error, Google is not perfect !
Do not worry, I know how to manage.
I usually build desktop PCs, gaming PCs, installed with Windows all versions or Linux all versions and many smarphone rooted, flashed, custom kernel flash, and I already flashed routers with DD- WRT or Tomato firmware.
I do not say that for bragging but rather for you to know my profile to understand that I like hacking electronic devices. I'm not a hacker like Mr.Robot (Otherwise I would not be the one to ask you questions) but want to start me in the home satellite stream.
The thing I have never done is to stream satellite channels on IPTV, I already used Kodi to see IPTV channels on m3u files found on the internet and have worked successfully.
For the question of "(can I put a 1x, 4x, 8x PCIe card into a 16x slot ?), I always installed an x16 card in a slot x16 because it is obvious that it does not enter a slot x1, x4, x8.
And the reverse, I never had to because the 1st slot has always been for the GPU and the 2nd the smallest slot for the sound card. The problem is that according to a video on YouTube, someone has announced that it is possible! So many years to climb PC is I discover it is apparently possible, I risk going now for an idiot ...
For that is the computing power of the i5 7400, I know that to play games without pushing the details to full with a gtx 1050 TI is possible but for video editing, it's slow. The CPU supports 4K in Intel's website features, so I made this proposal.
I also thought of the Raspberry Pi 3 with a dvb-s2 in usb, without transcoding but I'm not sure he can stream on the 10 Android box at the same time and it is only 1080p.
Sorry for that long answer, but I know you happen to meet beginners, but I think it's OK for me.
Thank you in advance !

1x dvb-s2
3x dvb-t
no problems /except with linux distro choice/

Hello,
WAFER-C400E2VN with a Celeron of 400 mhz only ? Is it enough to stream 10 channels at the same time ? I do not think that transcoding works and besides, I found the used motherboard at $700, the CPU is expensive and it seems to me unable to do what I wish ?!
To stream 10 channels at the same time, am I forced to use a server-type motherboard for it to work? Can not a desktop or gaming motherboard be enough ?
Can we mount hardware to stream without transcoding at $300 for 10 simultaneous channels ?
And with transcoding 4K to 1080p at less than $500 ?
Here is an example of a hardware, can it stream ? And transcode ? :
- AMD Ryzen 3 1300X
- Asus PRIME B350M-A
- DDR4 G.Skill Ripjaws V, Red, 2 x 4 GB, 2400 MHz, CAS 15
- Seagate BarraCuda, 1 TB
- TP-Link Archer T9E
- EVGA 450 BT, 450W
- TBS6528 PCIe card
- Aerocool QS182, black
(The wifi card may be incompatible linux ...)
Thank you in advance !

Open a door to change with Opteron CPU
RE: Hardware for stream channels on 10 Android box in 1080p from dvb-s2 - Added by azer 7 almost 7 years ago
Hello,
I think the price of a hardware with an Opteron will be expensive and so I do not want transcoding, but only streaming.
I wanted to buy a TBS2923 IPTV Streaming Server, unfortunately the server is no longer available for sale.
I only want to stream 10 channels in 1080p without transcoding and looking to build the equivalent of the TBS2923, here are these features:
SoC and processor: Marvell 88F6282 1.6 GHz with Sheeva CPU, V5TE ARM
RAM: 1 GB DDR3
Flash: 512 MB NAND
Ethernet: 100 / 1000M GigabitEthernet
WLAN: 802.11n
2x USB 2.0
1x SATA
operating system: Linux
"TBS MOI plus can stream 20 to 30HD or 60 to 80 SD channels and about 50 customers".
It costs about $ 229.99. -> https://shop.tbsdtv.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=110
Thank you in advance !

Hello,
Can I build the same hardware as the TBS2923 IPTV Streaming Server with an equivalent price of minus $ 300 ?
Thanks in advance for all the help !
