[SOLVED] Missing channels
Added by Steve Slexit almost 7 years ago
I'm using HDHomeRun Extend and tvheadend 4.2.5-10 on centos.
I added a network of type ATSC-T and added predefined muxes as "United States: us CA-SF-Bay-Area"
This scanned about 20 channels like KQED, KPIX, etc and I can watch/record these using tvheadend.
When I check directly on HDHomeRun URL, it shows 122 channels.
Why does tvheadend detect only about 20 channels.
Specifically channel ABC (channel 7) is missing.
How can I add channel 7 to tvheadend?
Channel 7 works fine if I use HDHomeRun app on my laptop.

If you know the frequencies of the missing channels you can manually add them yourself.
Your hdhomerun might show that info, if not search online for your local frequency info.

I did not see this information in HDHomeRun.
I did find this website which shows 2 ranges 174 - 180 and 596 - 602.
What are the steps to manually add a channel?
Do I need to add a muxe first and then add a channel?
Should I try each frquency in the ranges above?

Use the centre frequency, if that fails try the rest

Yes. Look at the other muxes to get an idea of the values required
Should I try each frquency in the ranges above?

I have the exact same issue .. KGO and Kron and ktvu are missing, and KPIX KNTV and CW are working.
Cannot figure out how to add the MUX for the missing stations. ANy idea what the current freq is?
Seems like you add the mux, and then if it scans ok then map the service?
