Re-installing from scratch
Added by balanga bar almost 7 years ago
I'm just getting started with TVheadend and thought I had it working, but wanted to start again from scratch... Unfortunately my DVB-T adapter doesn't show up anywhere. If I delete tvheadend and re-install do any config files get left behind which may alter a
'first-run'?

Just delete the config dir usually /home/hts/.hts/tvheadend

I've deleted the config dir and restarted tvheadend but my DVB-T dongle no longer shows up. Running w_scan finds around 30 channels, so the dongle is definitely working. Any ideas what I've done to make it disappear?

If you've installed the packages, it should just work. If you're running manually make sure the -g option has been set to video.

I've just recently installed and reinstalled TVheadend on a Raspberry Pi.
As part of the initial install, a dialogue box came up prompting for initial login and password. This didn't happend after a reinstall.
Puzzled....
Is this because the initial install created the hts user?
