TVheadend running on ArchLinux (HOWTO in progress)
Added by Paul Rensel almost 14 years ago
Hi,
I'm currently having Tvheadend on Archlinux running very well with TevII DVB-S2 cards.
Because it took me almost 2 weeks to get to this point (tried on div versions of Ubuntu, didnt work like it should) i'm currently putting my experiences into a HOWTO/FAQ so it might make life easier for others.
If there's anyone having some more tips or experiences and such we could put into the HOWTO lemme know and i'd add to it.
Paul

install tvheadend via AUR
just cp the two fw files in
/lib/firmware
start tvheadend via systemctl
make general config
language and diseq autodetect muxes
stop tvheadend via systemctl
start tvheadend via systemctl
add your DVB network
check if muxes detected "wait! --> see log" then map them
configure your channels in tab channels.
enable service via systemctl
Thanks for this Software!!!
PS:
A General config file and channel mapping config file for personal use will be very nice for TVH.
Maybe i dont find it in this software.
Once system is broken and you have the wrong user permissions in the files "system changes or whatever" in /home/.hts/hts/* then it sucks.
the view links via VLC on another machine dont work in my current setup. Dont have any idea why.
