TVHClient connection error with VPN Server on Synology NAS
Added by theo vh over 7 years ago
On my iPhone I'd like to remote access my Tvheadend server to access the EPG and schedule recordings. For this I have the TVHClient app installed. On my local network it's working as it should.
I have a VPN server on my synology diskstation. With VPN on my iPhone enabled I can access local web services remotely. Unfortunately the TVHClient is giving a network error when using VPN.
Does anyone here know how to fix this?

Does your VPN give out addresses in the same subnet as your TVH server? How are the access controls on your TVH server set up? Can you reach other services on the same machine running your TVH server?

Thanks for your reply. My Synology DS VPN server is handing out 10.10.0.* addresses. Attached a screenshot of my access control settings in tvh. The first entry is the admin. Second one is a "backup" admin user (in case I lock myself out)
Other services on this server can be reached without any problems. I think I have to change the access control settings to make it work. Not sure what to do. Should I add a new user account?
Ports 9981 and 9982 are not forwarded in my router. The default VPN ports 4500, 500 and 1701 are forwarded.
