tvheadend "scan no data, failed", but VDR works

Added by lmc lmc almost 8 years ago

Hello,

I had my system working with VDR, and I am trying to give tvheadend a shot but without success.

My system:
- chromebox + Geniatech T230 DVB-C USB stick
- HTS Tvheadend 4.1.1945 ~ LibreELEC Tvh-addon v7.0.102
- Kodi jarvis

What i have done so far:

- disable vdr and enable tvheadend
- run w_scan to find muxes (w_scan.log)
- enabled tvheadend debug (debug.png)
- tvheadend configuration:
- tv adapter configured for DVB-C, with network set (tv_adapters.png)
- added my network of type DVB-C, with name "network" (network.png)
- added mux, using information from w_scan (mux.png)
already tried different fec combinations, but without success, always "scan no data"
already added others muxes without success

VDR is working well, it finds the channels without problems and i could see them without problems also, why tvheadend doesnt, could someone help me?
I also attached dmesg log (dmesg.log) and tvheadend log (tvhe.log)

Thank you

Try removing the additional zeros from the symrate, so just use "6875" or maybe just "0".

Also tried with sym = 0 with same result.
Thanks

This might be a long shot but what about 687500000 or even 6875000000 ? :p

No joy also, tried with 6875, 68750, 687500, 68750000, 687500000 and 687500000, always with "Invalid argument error". I think that the unit of the value is ok, if i have 6875KS/s then i have to input 6875000 int the field of tvheadend.

One funny thing is, when i receive "Invalid argument error", i have to restart tvheadend because it wont start scanning again when i hit force scan button, strange.

I check my mux data with my tv configuration, tried different muxes, and nothing happens, so frustrating.

Thank you

I don't have a dvb-c tuner to test with, but have you checked the QAM setting?

Also, probably not yourproblem, but are you sure it is dvb-c? My cable provider sends both dvb-c and dvb-t..
Does scan/w_Scan find the channels?
Are you certain vdr is stopped and nothing else is using the tuner?

RE: tvheadend "scan no data, failed", but VDR works - Added by lmc lmc almost 8 years ago

I tried in every QAM options, despite of the correct one be QAM256.
I just used w_scan data, you could see output from it in my first post, and it finds the channels with DVB-C option.
VDR is stopped for sure, i stop tvheadend when using w_scan also.
Maybe this is related with tvheadend version?

RE: tvheadend "scan no data, failed", but VDR works - Added by lmc lmc almost 8 years ago

I installed tvheadend in my laptop, version HTS Tvheadend 4.0.9-16~g63c1034~wheezy, follow the same steps as above and was able to find all of dvb-c channels.
So i turn around for tvheadend version, fortunately i have version 4.0 in my libreelec repo, i installed it and no joy also.
So i think about changing my stick firmware version, it was dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw version 4.0.25, i changed it to 4.0.4 and voila, tvheadend was able to find all my channels.
So, tried version 4.0.7 and also works, tried version 4.0.11 and works, tried version 4.0.19 and it fails!

Conclusion:
For si2168 firmware version 4.0.4 -> 4.0.11 tvheadend could work properly, version 4.0.25 and 4.0.19 it doesnt work.
Maybe it is a tvheadend problem because VDR works well.

Thank you
