Multiple Channel tags at once

I want to sort my scanned channels into groups. I believe I can do this via chanel tags but I don't want to individually select each channel and tag it. Is there a better way of doing this or an alternative to channel tags

If you're running 4.1.xxxx, Use ctrl/shift + click to select more than one channel & press edit. Make your changes but before applying/saving check the checkbox next to the field(s) to apply to all selected.

Thanks I am using 4.0 19 it appeaars to be more stable for me. The problem with this method though is that say for example I need to make a tag fir all hd channels. 70 pages of services to select all hd channels from all the pages would be a pain
