unable to scan mux - DVB-T
Added by Daniel Podolsky about 8 years ago
Hello
I own the Geniatech Mygica T230C , trying to use tvheadend 4.2 on RPI2 LE7.0.2
i'm using crazycat's drivers and copied the fw files to /storage/.config/firmware, so dongle can be seen in tvheadend configuration page
i also added a new network and activated the DVB-T on the T230C.
however after adding the network and muxes, the scan result is "FAIL"
i dumped tvheadend log, here (hope this is enough) -
2016-10-31 12:01:10.171 [ INFO]Confusedubscription: 000D: "scan" subscribing to mux "514MHz", weight: 6, adapter: "Silicon Labs Si2168 : DVB-T #0", network: "IdanPlus", service: "Raw PID Subscription"

it doesn't make sense there is no data.. this is the local TV network
this is the correct broadcast frequency..
is this a known issue? any suggestions how to scan properly? or at least test this manually?
thanks a lot,
Daniel.

RE: unable to scan mux - DVB-T - Added by Mark Clarkstone about 8 years ago
Can you scan using something other than Tvheadend, w_scan/vdr?
If w_scan see's muxes/services that would suggest that you're either not entering enough details or they're wrong.
RE: unable to scan mux - DVB-T - Added by Daniel Podolsky about 8 years ago
w_scan currently isn't part of LibreElec and i can't install it because LE is a read-only system..
but it's a good idea, perhaps i'll try the LE8 beta that has this tool included

Do a 'dmesg' and paste the results here, please.

RE: unable to scan mux - DVB-T - Added by Vladimir Gv about 8 years ago
You're scanning on 514MHz? I see an out of range warning in your logs. Also, the delivery system is on DVB-T or DVB-T2? Some drivers don't do the switch automatically. Can be also a firmware problem, try using different ones.
RE: unable to scan mux - DVB-T - Added by Daniel Podolsky about 8 years ago
yes i'm scanning 514MHz...
trying to scan DVB-T local network
how can it be out of range? i thought these frequencies are "regular" dvb-t freqs
where can i get a different FW from?
im using the FW recommended by CvH:
dvb-demod-si2168-d60-01.fw
dvb-tuner-si2141-a10-01.fw
and they are loaded successfully according to the dmesg
thanks a lot
RE: unable to scan mux - DVB-T - Added by Vladimir Gv about 8 years ago
I also suggest you to run a scan on a windows machine (with the scanner that came with the dvb-t stick) to be sure there is an actual signal in the area; also the windows drivers are likely to be more tolerant to noise and weak signal (as of my experience).
Lastly, if you don't have any luck with the above, try to unload the si2168 module and load it in debug mode:
- rmmod si2168
- modprobe si2168 debug=1
