SAT>IP > TVheadend > Kodi - re-architecting help please
Added by Steve Murray over 8 years ago
Hi All,
Been using TVH a few years now, always with a single ubuntu PC with dual TBS cards and TVH server, serving to various Kodi clients in the house.
I'm also using the PC as a Kodi Client - and I also have a Synology NAS on the LAN for by Media storage.
Now my old PC is starting to overheat and I have a plan to remove it from the loop.
So - here is my plan.
1) Disable the Kodi client from the PC, (remove hot video card) and replace with a RPi alongside.
2) Configure old PC so TVH also serves Sat-IP
3) Install TVH on Synology DS412+, configured to use the SAT-IP Feeds
4) Switch out the PC, for a SATIP like this : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Megasat-SAT-IP-Server-3/dp/B01DKP28O2
5) Give the PC to the kids to play games on...
So,
step 1 is easy.. done.
step 2 & 3 is where I'm stuck.
I have TVH up and running on the DS412
I have configured the old PC with TVH to offer up the cards via IP. (see screenshot)
TVH on the DS412 can see the old Sat-IP configuration, but I can't figure out how to configure it to map all the muxes & Services from the SATIP Server.
Unfortunately, no screenshot of the DS412 config right now.. But I'm hoping for some high level guidance really on how I should be doing it.
Thanks in advance!
Steve

I got there, thanks to some great help though the IRC.
All tv recordings now being stored on the NAS, which is much better than before.
Old PC now purely just serving up dual TBS cards.. so I can either add another pair.. or just switch the whole thing out for a Sat-IP-Server.

Hi, does the megasat server 3 give you 8 tuners? It has 4 connections but the product specs mention allowing 8 devices to connect to it.
