No output in vlc / openelec
Added by zohar l over 9 years ago
Hi,
I have a new rpi2 running openelec and a dvb-t usb card.
I tried to install the dvb-t card according to this manual:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=halHAigfj4Q
It look like every thing is working great on the tvheadend server:
there is real data under the EPG tab.
All the channels are under Configuration -> Channel / EPG
But when i try to play any channel nothing plays.
I've tried both in openelec and from my PC using VLC.
In VLC, it try to play for some time and then I receive an error:
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://192.168.1.110:9981/stream/service/ff1370a75e35a792223b88c134f76fad'. Check the log for details.
Also in VLC tools -> messages, verbosity=2 I get:
core debug: connection succeeded (socket = 560)
http error: failed to read answer
http debug: switching to HTTP version 1.0
core debug: net: connecting to 192.168.1.110 port 9981

http error: failed to read answer
core debug: net: connecting to 192.168.1.110 port 9981

access_mms error: failed to read answer

core error: open of `http://192.168.1.110:9981/stream/service/ff1370a75e35a792223b88c134f76fad' failed
core debug: dead input
core debug: changing item without a request (current 2/3)
core debug: nothing to play
qt4 debug: IM: Deleting the input
I can see the TV if I plug the dvb stick to the PC and play it directly from VLC (so the stick is working).
What can be my problem?

Same is happening to me.
Just upgraded from Ubuntu 15.04 to 15.10 using VLC 3.0.0-git
Anyone got ANY ideas??

Check the pane output when you try to stream a service..
Load up the webui on another machine and click the arrow in the bottom right.
You should see something like this..

OK
Found a couple of things. Looks like my upgrade of Ubuntu somehow knocked things out!
For some reason I've "OScam" set up and looking for a CAM module! (I've never used a CAM module in this system!) don't know how that got there!
And the DVB adapter will not stay "enabled" keep getting the following in the log when I enable the adapter andclick "save"
2015-10-24 13:47:30.022 tot: invalid checksum (len 8, errors 1)
I've manually went into ~/.hts/tvheadend/input/linucdvb/adapters/ and changed the adapter status to "enabled : true".
I can now play channels through VLC.
Think I'll be doing a clean install of Ubuntu 15.10 so hopefully when i reinstall TvHeadend this problem will go away.
