Tvheadend+Raspbian+MSI digiVOX A/D II

Added by Anonymous about 10 years ago

Hi guys.
I am planning to make my own DVB streamer from rPi with DVB stick. I have a few questions about this configuration:
1) Will my MSI digiVOX A/D II work with raspbian or do i have to install linux drivers for em28xx?
2) How many streams can i use? E.g. can i run one channel on my iPad and another channel on my PC?
3) What is the average load of CPU with Tvheadend?
4) Can i use Windows media center for playing stream?
5) How to install it on Raspbian? https://tvheadend.org/projects/tvheadend/wiki/AptRepository which should i follow?
Thanks for answers, I am hind of newbie in rPi and linux.
Martin

Hello,

1) I don't know.
2) As long as your DVB stick have one tuner, you can see all channel on one mux. For two mux, you need two tuner, or a double one.
3) On a raspberry, a stream is about 20% of CPU, I will look for it precisely if you want.
4) yes, you can.
5) yes, this is the right methode.

After cheking, on a new install for raspberry, I can have two stream via IP and two recording simultaneously without problems.
The command 'top' tell me that the CPU is between 65 and 85% of load.
No overcloking done, default setup...
