[solved] Tvheadend 3.4.27 fails to find services for Astra 19.2E with Technisat SkyStar HD PCI

Added by Marc B over 10 years ago

Hello,

i'm having trouble to find services for Astra 19.2E with tvheadend 3.4.27 on gentoo with Technisat SkyStar HD PCI card.
Tvheadend won't find more muxes, when I add Astra 19.2E dvb network.

After patching the kernel the card runs fine and the driver is successfully loaded. When I scan with 'scan-dvb' or 'w_scan' all the expected services are found.
So I assume the hardware is ok.
I've tried to add muxes manually, but nothing helped. It won't find more muxes and services for Astra 19.2E.
The strange thing is, when I select Astra 23.5E as dvb network, tvheadend finds more muxes and also services.

Does anybody have an idea, what I can do to get it running?

Regards, Marc

Update tvheadend, that version is ancient and likely you won't have a problem witha newer build. If you do after updating then post back, there's been massive amount of development since 3.4.xxx

Thank you Rob Rob - your advice solved my problem. I installed the ebuild, which uses latest from git repository.

In my first tries I mixed the old version and the latest so it hasn't worked. So I thought I stay with the ebuild marked as stable in gentoo. =/ After purging the old version and reinstall the new one it worked.

Hi,

I had similar problems using the 3.4 version, so now I use the 9999-version.
Great to discover there is an ebuild in gentoo nowadays ! I used manually compiled versions until now.

I was wondering: You mention 'the ebuild marked as stable', but as far as i can see none of the ebuilds is stable in Gentoo. What ebuild are you using/referring to ? ?

Thanks,

Alex.

Hi,

I meant the last as unstable marked ebuild - I remembered it wrong, when I wrote my answer =(.
With the 9999-version everythings fine now.
