LNB Multiswitch setup

Added by Frank Jurczyk over 10 years ago

Hello,

i had my tvheadend backend setup with an older version, Technisat skystar HD usb and 9/12 Multiswitch, with two LNB's (one Astra, one Hotbird). Worked perfect !!
Since changing to Tvheadend 7.9.788 on Ubuntu server i'm confused about how to setup multiswitch in the new Webgui.
I'm trying to receive from Astra 19.2E which has in standard only have one mux and doesn't get any signal. Even when put
in muxes manually. As i recall from the last install, it needs only one working mux with network discovery to get
all other muxes on this satellite ?! So anybody could give a hand on setting up TVH with multiswitch properly ?

thx

Hi,

some weeks ago I had the same problem. Go to DVD Inputs, then to Adapters after that put in SatConfig -> Advanced and save it. In the new entry in the tree "Advanced" put the number of LNBs you have in Orbital Positions and save it. Now you have new entries in the tree of your adapter. To use the Uncommitted field didn't worked for me. So set the switch position with the committed field (AA for LNB1, AB for LNB2, etc.) Don't forget to save every change you did! If you have set your Networks you can set it for every LNB. Now have a look in your networks. Sometimes tvh do not load the muxes after creating the network. So select a network go on edit and search for your Pre-defined Mux and save it. I don't now why but sometimes you have to do it twice.
Another problem is that the pre-definied Muxes are old and for Astra 19.2 there is only one entry. Go to to /usr/local/share/tvheadend/data/dvb-scan/dvb-s (s for satelite) and change the files. Before doing it stop the tvh with service tvheadend stop change the files and start tvh again.
I hope it works for you
