Unable to scan for services automatically
Added by Glen Brickwood over 10 years ago
Hi Guys,
I'm having some trouble getting Live TV working correctly on my clean installed openelec system. I have installed the TVHeadend backend, and the frontend. I have accessed the webgui, and can see my Winfast DTV Gold as Afatech AF9013. I then choose "add DVB Network by location" and choose an appropriate location. I then get 14 muxes, 14 muxes awaiting initial scan, 0 services. None of these numbers change though and I don't pick up any services. I also tried with another USB tuner I had (Compro Videomate which showed as Realtek RTL2832 (DVB-T)) and had the same problem.
Interestingly I tried to add one of the muxes manually and it picked up 8 services. I can watch them through Live TV although there is no EPG, the time is incorrect and there are no channel logos. As soon as I add any of the DVB network services by location though I get the same as above except 14 muxes, 13 muxes awaiting initial scan, 8 services, again the numbers don't change.
I'm hoping it's just a configuration setting to get things working properly because I have gotten it partially working. I'm completely new to openelec and linux in general but very keen to get this working properly, I love the speed of openelec but Live TV is a dealbreaker. I was previously using Mediaportal on Windows with no issues.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated!
Thanks!

Where are you (country/city/transmitter if known), and what (example) frequencies/configurations are being added by the 'by location' function? It's quite possible that the world has turned and you're downloading stale mux information. If that's the case, it's easy to add the right information by hand if it's easily available.
