Debian 7.4 + Hauppauge 4000
Added by Dioni Rodriguez over 10 years ago
Hello
I am new to linux, Debian 7.4 wheezy.
I installed TVHeadend with my Hauppauge 4000 card and get to see the channels of DVB-T, but the DVB-S with the satellite Astra 19.2 lame can not get signal.
I do something wrong? DVBT works OK, DVB-S channels detected.
Greetings and thanks

Take a look in this thread: https://tvheadend.org/boards/5/topics/11224
i hade the same problem with a nova s2 card (same firmware as your card)
there is a link to a how to for adding backport to your wheezy. works good but use it at your own risk.
you can also use a ubuntu distribution with a later kernel, but iam a debian guy so i dont recomend that

I updated the kernel to 3.13 bpo but apparently still not working.
Kaffeine recognizes my DVB-T card, but the DVB-S is still missing.
In TVHeadend if CX24116/CX24118 appears, but the log returns "Front configuration failed - Bad file descriptor"
As I can see that the card is good for drivers?
