Can't make AF9015 work. Help!
Added by Doron Dod almost 11 years ago
Hi folks,
I'm new to tvheadend. I'm trying to make in work with an AF9015 dongle (in fact, I'm trying to make the dongle work in Linux).
Setup: Debian Linux, 3.2.0-4-amd64, running under ESXi 5.5. AF9015-based USB stick.
The stick works flawlessly under Windows. Both natively, and also when assigned to a Windows VM running under the very same ESXi which runs the Debian.
Firmware 5.1.0.0 is available and is loaded. (In fact, if I first assign the stick to Windows, it loads 5.24.0.0, and then when I reassign the stick to Linux, it finds the AF9013 chip in "warm" state and keeps the fw). The problem below happens both with 5.1 and with 5.24.
All the log messages indicate successful setup and the adapter is registered.
tvheadend "sees" it and would assign muxes to it. However, it finds zero content.
w_scan against the adapter scans all the frequencies and finds zip.
I know for a fact that there are a bunch of channels on 514Mhz/8Mhz. As I said, I can see them (good quality) in Windows, using the same stick on the same machine under the same ESXi hypervisor.
Help!?!...
Anything else I can try before giving up and moving to a Windows based package (which I'd really hate to do)?
I'd be grateful for any insight.
