Skipping in live-tv using timeshift
Added by Fredrik Olofsson over 11 years ago
Hello,
First of all, let me thank you for an amazing piece of software. Although I have not yet donated to it, it is my firmest intention to do it in a very short while.
Now, to my question/issue. And I apologizes if the following is answered elsewhere.
I use tvheadend (latest, compiled from git, running on Ubuntu 12.10) with XBMC 12.2 as front-end(s) on Mac, Linux and Windows 8. When I use the pause function in live-tv, it works as expected when I simply hit pause and then resume watching. However, if I try to skip using "." or "," , for instance when a commercial break comes up, the playback always goes back to the beginning of the buffer. It also display this behavior if I try to skip backwards, for example to replay a really awesome hockey-pass or something. It really doesn't matter for how long the playback is paused. FF and REW seems to be working as expected, though.
Sorry that I can't produce logs right now, I'm at work.
Anyway, thank you all for your hard work.

Never mind, as it turns out, seeking in live tv-streams works just as expected in an xbmc-nightly from today. Yay! I will still donate, though. As soon as I get around to it!

Hi,
nice that it works for you, however i am using tvheadend 3.4 (server pc) and openelec (frontend on htpc). I really do not want to change this setup. I have the exact same problem you describe...
has anybody found a solution for this?
