TV-Resolution
Added by Raymond Homann over 11 years ago
Hi folks,
after getting my TV-System (THV as backend running on a QNAP NAS, RaspPI with openelec & XBMC, Samsung T22B350 Screen) running I am facing the following problem:
XBMC is filling the screen perfectly, but resolution is limited to 1280x720p (Monitor 1920x1080p).
But when watching LiveTV the pictures are compressed not to 4:3 but 3:4 (!!)
All settings in both XBMC and opelelecs "config.sys" are tested and correct. With 'tvservice -e="DMT 85"' I can force to fill the screen, but no chance operate XBMC any more.
Theis might not be an issue of THV, I am on my way in XBMC- and openlec-Forums aswell.
Anyway: Does anybody have a useful idea??
Thanks

First thing would be to look at the resolution in the actual recorded file. Use mediainfo -it gives a very thorough output.

HI Nick,
"mediainfo"-command is not available on my Raspi running with Openelec

You must have some other computer in your home that will run mediainfo surely?

Getting "mediainfo" in the meantime.
An actual recorded file from "normal" SD-TV shows 720x576 - as expected.
The problem with the 4:3 ratio is being solved in the meantime.
Anyhow: The TV resolution n "System-Information" is shown to be 1280x720 only, although "1080p" is choosen in the "config.txt"
Newest problem is, that HD-TV-programs are not displayed, because "THV service is not started" - but it is started!!
I'm still working on this...
Thanks
