Timeshift not working well in OpenELEC 3.0
Added by Graeme Russ over 11 years ago
Hi All,
I think this may be an OpenELEC issue, but I just want to confirm...
I'm running Tvheadend (git commit e9ce02138e81d0dd94a2b155e57fda282063c008) on a backend server (A HP Microserver with a quad DVB-T tuner) and an OpenELEC frontend (AMD E-350 running OpenELEC 3.0 Fusion)
Live TV works really well - Channel changing is lightning fast.
Timeshift is not so good - I can press pause, but if I leave it paused for several seconds, it does not resume when I press play again. Rewind and fast-forward are a complete no-go.
I've heard that OpenELEC 2.99.2 (RC2) might work but I cannot find this version to download (the OpenELEC team have changed the website and previous versions do not seem to be accessible any more).
Has anyone else experienced broken timeshifting in either OpenELEC or XBMC?

Noticed the same thing today. Pausing playback works, but resuming playback only plays a few seconds and then freezes. You have to quit the channel and return to make the channel work again. Resuming fails. I can't find any buffers on the tvheadend system in the timeshift path. A directory buffer/ exists but it remains empty.

I had the same with xbmc alpha 13 running on ubuntu 13.04.
Then I just changed the rights from the "timeshift-directory" on my tvhe server and now it seems to work on my xbmc. Just tried a few times, but maybe this helps you...
