Display issue TV4 HD Comhem.
Added by jim larz almost 12 years ago
Hello,
Currently using:
Xbmcbuntu Frodo RC2
TT Budget 1501 dvb-c /Latest git build of V4L
NVIDIA G210 / 313.09
TVHeadend / 3.2.34
I'm having issues decoding TV4 HD from Comhem using TVHeadend.
Picture is pixeled/macroblocked(?) as hell. (Tried disabling VDPAU, no result)
Sound is working fine however, no stuttering etc.
I have no issues on SVT1 HD or SVT2 HD, nor any other HD content for that matter.
Don't have access to any other 1080i channels.
Same issue when streaming to VLC and on recorded material.

This is really wierd.
Im getting no clarity regarding this at all.
I've tested it on another cable provider (Canal Digital)
I've upgraded to the latest nvidia drivers from xorg repo. (313.09)
Now TV3 SD is located @ 314,000 kHz but on QAM64 I believe? Anyways, if VDPAU is activated it suffers the same problem as TV4 HD did on Comhem.
However, if i turn VDPAU off, the image is 99% stable, I get some random pixels.
The funny thing is that it does work with my setup on Windows with Mediaportal and XBMC RC3
Next step would be to try my card in another computer to rule out any compability issues or interferences.

I think this is bug in tvheadend actually. It's been confirmed by one "semi" developer. (One that writes loads of code but only minor contributions to tvh)
So don't worry about messing around with different hardware and stuff

Alright, thank you for your response.
I hope this will be fixed in future versions of Tvheadend.
Besides these issues it's without a doubt the best PVR/DVR software Ive come across!

Hey,
Is this bug registered and on the todo list? Can I track it?
If not, is it possible to register it? I don't know what the technical term would be since I don't know whats causing this!
Thanks.

Ok, just for the sake of documenting if anyone else is having the same issues as me and want to stick with xbmcbuntu.
I've switched to VDR now. Working fine there fortunatly. (not as user friendly to setup though)

Sorry for the late answer.
Im not running TVHeadend any longer. But I only had access to 2 FTA SD channels and those did not suffer from this.
However, not all encoded channels did either.
I was using cws when viewing encrypted channels.
Typed from phone.

I have same problem, I've used tvheadend for several years and until now TV4 SD worked fine. But on my new 55" it looks like crap, so I'm also interested to get this bug fixed - is there any update on this topic?

Attaching a recording of TV4 HD which displays what I believe is discussed above.
