TVH Not responding for 10 minutes after network issue
Added by Luca M over 3 years ago
Hi everybidy,
I have very recently installed LibreELEC 9.2.6 on my Rpi4 and my TV Hat running TVH 4.2.8
I am currently suffering from wifi outages (the Rpi disconnects from the network around three times a day) and I still need to investigate what's going on. In the meantime, I have created a script that will automatically reconnect to the nwtork.
The problem, though, is TVH convergence time. Yesterday I was recording a TV Program and watching a Recorded Program at the same time, when the wifi went down.
Surprisingly, the TV Recording which was in progress didn't suffer any issue (I believe some buffering/caching took place) as you can see from my grafana, but I completely lost access to the program I was watching, as the TVH Server was not responding. I tried for 10 minutes and then I gave up.
Just a few minutes ago, I have suffered another WiFi outage and you can see from the logs below that TVH start showing he's back and live around 10 minutes after the network is connected, look: WiFi is back at 14:14:23 but 127.0.0.1 answers only at 14:24:14 after lots of errors

Is there a way to "speed up" this 10-minute interval time which apparently is only affecting PlayBack? I didn't lose a bit in my recording....
I couldn't find any settings anywhere
Thanks
Ciao

Try using a recent version and not some outdated 4.2 stuff.

Is 4.2.8 old stuff?

Yes, like not maintained for 2 years. Many issues have not been fixed in 4.2 and are only in 4.3.

Didn't know. When I installed TVH in Kodi, I don't think I had a way to chose the version but I will absolutely double check. I normally tend to skip beta or unstable but after 2 years, I understand I need to upgrade.
Good thanks
