Tvheadend problems with Kodi since 2 - 3 Weeks - frontend and backend seem to have connection problems
Added by Jef Bosk over 3 years ago
Hi guys, I hope someone can help me here, I already looked for help at kodinerds, but none can detect what the reason of my problem could be. Maybe you can help me here? I don't even know how to describe the problem in a correct way, I 'll try...
My htpc with xubuntu 20.04 and kodi were working perfectly during the past years, but since few weeks a TV problem came up. After booting kodi starts automatically, In the past I could usually see the epg uptading process running very fast in the upper right screen section, then I could start the tv within few seconds, everything perfect. But since several days I am experiencing the problem that kodi starts, but TV does not work: the channel list is not showing, epg is not showing, kodi says, "pvr manager ist starting" for at least 2 - 3 minutes. Then all of a sudden in kodi the channel list and the epg list fill and kodi starts to work again. However, after some time the tvheadend pvr addon seems to lose the connection with the backend as kodi debug log shows when the addon PVR Recording & Power Manager tries to shut down the pc.
On the other hand, if I start the htpc and start tvheadend via firefox, the epg is immediately there, I can start any channel preview without any problem.
Can anybody imagine what is going on? I upload both kodi and Tvheadend logfiles here, but I doubt that they will deliver some insights, apart the long time it takes for the pvr addon to connect with the backend.
This problem started with Tvheadend 4.2.8. I now updated to the "unstable" version 4.3.0 (recommended), but the problem persists.

Have you got user name and password authentication set up correctly in Kodi for accessing TVH. Try clearing channels and guides in Kodi PVR Live TV and see how quickly Kodi imports them again.
