incompleted recordings - Failed recordings Status "Time missed"
Added by Jef Bosk over 5 years ago
Hi guys, I hope you can help me getting rid of a frustrating thing with my htpc.
Months ago Kodi and Tvheadend worked flawlessly, but since the update to Kodi 18 (I don't know if it has something to do with this) it happens quite often that the recordings I set via timer are incomplete. Here is how proceed:
- select the program in kodi via EPG and plan the recording.
- shut down the PC via the addon PVR recording and Power Manager
The recording starts perfectly, but stops for an unknown reason much too early (yesterday 1 h earlier).
In kodi, I even increased the post-recording time to 15 min. (in Tvheadend it is now set to 12 min.) , it still didn't help.
The "faulty" recordings are not showing in kodi's "recordings" menu, however, and this is weird:
I see the ts recorded files the hts recording folder
So far, all the incomplete recordings had a length of 2:09 h, and (I'm not 100% sure about this) 9.7 GB
I don't really know anymore where to look for wrong settings or how to find a solution, can anyone help me maybe?
After selecting the recordings parameters in kodi I lately even checked the status in Tvheadend, the time sets in upcoming recordings were fine, but quite often the status in failed recordings says Time missed.
Can someone imagine what is going on? My Tvheadend version 4.2.8-23

Hello guys, with the risk I talk to myself...nobody really has an idea or can help me with this frustrating issue? There is actually no movie at all I can record anymore, simply because if you add the minutes of the commercials, most of the recordings are over these stupid 2:09 hours! By the way, my HDD still has 150 GB free disk space. Is this a bug? I wonder...did I screw up the path permissions perhaps and this is causing the problem somehow? Can somebody tell me, what the default permissions should be? These are my ones:

here is my log file for 2 tests I did last night, perhaps it helps.
Weird: the 2nd test recording ended at 01:00 last night, the pc shut down at 01:20. When I restarted the PC this morning kodi show that the recording was still in process. tvheadend seemed to be very busy, because the webinterface was not responding. The second recording was incomplete (2:14 h instead of 2:45 h).

Guys, I found help at Kodinerds and just post the solution for my case here hoping to be able to help other people sometime in the future
In the energy management under system , the setting was "standby after 2 hours of system idle".
I set the time value to never and since then everything works perfectly. Crazy , Xubuntu 18.04 and probably also Ubuntu 18.04 consider HDD activity as idle, who would imagine this!

Systems often consider themselves to be 'idle' if they have no evidence of human activity. i.e. no keyboard presses and no mouse movement for given time = idle
Not a helpful category for 'server' type applications.
