Android TV problem (not TVHEADEND)Wrong Aspect Ratio Germany TV Channel Disney HD and Deluxe Music HD only with TVHeadend Backend

Hi,

I am using the shield with Kodi and TVHeadend for Live TV. On 2 Channels the aspect Ratio is not correct. When I deactivate Hardware decoding feature of shield all is fine. But then I cannot Play 4k Content. When I use DVBViewer as Backend there is no problem.

Any suggestion what I can do ? You can see it on picture. This has to be 16:9. And I really checked all other options. The Channel has Resolution of 1280X1080. All Other channels are fine. The Hardware Decoder seems to do here something wrong ?

The TV is a LG 65b6D with native resolution of 3840x2160 (4K). Other Channels are not affected. Here in Germany only DeluxeMusic HD (1280x1080) 16:9 and Disney Channel HD (1440x1080) 16:9. Other 4:3 / 16:9 channels are fine.

Same Kodi Version played with Raspberry 3 shows no problem with both Channels.

Kodi Resolution is 3840x2160p and Shield Setup 3840x2160.

If I disable hardwaredecoding on Shield both Channels are played correct. But then I lose the ability to Play 4K Films.
If I scale Down the Resolution 1920x1080 the problem still exist

If you use transcoding problem is there.
Still there is no transcoding option to change/keep aspect ratio.

if you have regular keyboard press o letter,
to see incoming resolution and aspect ratio.

I know ... the resolution of the channel is 1,280x1,080px, 0.00 AR 50.000FPS. has to be 16:9 (on rasp3 it is right) but display like 4:3

Hi again,

after some test again I reinstall the DVBviewer Backend instead of TVHeadend. Here the same problem just on Android hardewaredecoding enabled.

Sorry guys... it seems to be a Android specific problem.

Should I delete Thread ?
