Continuity errors on scrambled channels

Added by Lee Pru over 11 years ago

Hello everyone,

I have Ubuntu installation with TVheadend (3.5.66) running with remote Oscam and on 1 of the cards I'm getting a lot of these errors:

Mar 26 20:34:06 TS: adapter1 - Satellite: 10,845,000 kHz Horizontal (Default (Port 0, Universal LNB)): MPEG2VIDEO @ #2221: Continuity counter error, 982 duplicate log lines suppressed

When viewing the stream there are artifacts. Also, when I disconnect the VLC client, it seems TVheadend doesn't know and keeps sending stream, thus showing these continuity errors for an extra 2-3 minutes. This failure to realize that client disconnected only happens on this specific card. Other cards know when to stop.

I have unchecked the "Idle Scanning" option in mux settings but to no avail.

Can someone please help?

Thanks!

I have the same problem, when watching a scrambled stream there a artifact and clicks in the sound.

I run threaded on a debian arm machine with oscam to descramble the channels.

The FTA channels are fine.

Kind Reagards,
Jeroen

Hi Jeroen,

I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. I have experimented since this problem and I found that the problem was with Oscam and TVheadend not working well together.

What you should try is to install CCcam client on your machine and configure TVheadend's CAPMT feature to use the socket that CCcam creates. That way, you don't use TCP to connect to Oscam server, but instead go through the socket. At least that can tell you if problem is with TVheadend's Oscam implementation or not. It might very well be a card problem too.

Hope this helps someone. Engineers are welcome to give their opinion.

Hi Lee,

I think it’s not the card, when i use dvbviewer on a windows workstation , the problem does not occur ( using the same oscam server)

I going to test ccam , and let you know the results.

Kind regards,
Jeroen
