RTL + SAT1 at 130 MHz in Hessen (Germany)
Added by Florian D about 1 year ago
Hi,
after the channel switch in Hessen (Germany) by Vodafone, I've lots of trouble getting TVheadend (4.3-1994~gc7b713edb) to work. Especially one problem I could not solve. I get the service on the Mux at 130 MHz and also get channels (SAT1, RTL). Unfortunately when I open the channel in e.g. Kodi I do not get any picture or sound (see attached log file).
The last thing I tried was to active MUX on 130 MHz to fix the problem. Result was:
2023-11-07 10:54:54.365 mpegts: 130MHz in DVB-C Network - tuning on Silicon Labs Si2168 #1 : DVB-C #0 2023-11-07 10:54:54.366 subscription: 0033: "scan" subscribing to mux "130MHz", weight: 6, adapter: "Silicon Labs Si2168 #1 : DVB-C #0", network: "DVB-C Network", service: "Raw PID Subscription" 2023-11-07 10:55:00.776 mpegts: 130MHz in DVB-C Network scan complete 2023-11-07 10:55:00.776 subscription: 0033: "scan" unsubscribing
This did not fix the problem. Any hints available what else I can do?
Sorry, I forgot to mention I use a RaspBerry 4 Model B with Raspberry PI OS lite (32-Bit) (bullseye) and a double tuner Hauppauge model 204209.

Have you tried playing it directly in TVH using VLC.

In the TVH browser when you click on the Status tab are you seeing any Signal Level or Signal Quality reading.

Hi Jonas,
status tab: I see two devices in "Stream" tab (see attached file), nothing in "Subscriptions", "Connections" and "Service Mapper" is "0".

Firstly are those channels scrambled by any chance. I’m not seeing any signal level or quality so ensure your antenna is connected correctly and properly positioned for maximum signal. If you’re still experiencing problems read through this link https://tvheadend.org/boards/5/topics/50200

Hi Jonas,
probably I was not clear enough. First of all, I use DVB-C. All channels are working fine (ARD, ZDF...). Only Mux at 130 MHz does not receive proper signal. Unfortunately SAT1 SD, RTL SD, OK Rhein-Main and Rhein-Main-TV are all on that Mux. And please apologize: In my previous port I did understand you correctly. I now selected RTL and indeed got some signals (see screenshot). But unfortunately not enough to get a clear picture (or tone).

Well if you’re already receiving channels via your tuner you’ve now identified that the signal you are receiving is not strong enough to display a picture. I’ve no idea what DVB format you are receiving unless you mention it in the first place.
Ensure all connections between your cable provider, tuner and RPI are securely fastened.
It is possible that a change in kernel may have happened or an updated firmware was released for that tuner. Either way that’s the route I’d take if you cannot resolve your issue. Just looking here hints at that possibility https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=348545
