FFDecsa
Added by Joe User almost 6 years ago
Is there a particular reason FFDecsa support was dropped? I understand there are issues with selecting parallel modes and certain parallel mode / compiler optimization / cpu combinations do not work, but it is "FF" and in most cases, faster than libdvbcsa. When it was dropped, I was using a fast 8 core cpu, so the difference was not a big deal. But since then I have moved to an older 3 core cpu machine (no need for transcoding anymore) and the difference is significant when descrambling 4+ channels concurrently. I have made some changes to tvhcsa and the version of libdvbcsa to make things better, but I think FFDecsa would still be faster.

I also don't understand why FFDeCSA isn't used. I developed for the DVBViewer the plugin mdvbapi with a much faster FFDeCSA version. It is special developed for low power CPUs like Atom. It just needs someone who can transfer the source to Linux...

The speed of this version is about double than the original source.
