Can anyone help? scrambled stream freezes - not sure where the fault lies
Added by Meeko Kittika about 11 years ago
Hi all, hope someone can point me in the right direction.
My setup: single CentOS linux box with Compro S350 DVB-S card, running 3.9.1871~g26ccee6-dirty and OSCam 1.20-unstable_svn r9842 running Newcamd, and with a Raspberry Pi running OpenELEC and XBMC 13.1 as front end.
Everything runs fine until it appears OScam loses a packet:
2014/10/29 22:00:01 8684F0 c tvheadend (0963&000000/FFFF/1078/5F:11369304224CE67D7B4683E4B3669752): found (211 ms) by Reader-3 2014/10/29 22:00:10 8684F0 c tvheadend (0963&000000/FFFF/1078/5F:373907DBC4B91B88F382D33902580F32): found (576 ms) by Reader-3 2014/10/29 22:00:18 8684F0 c tvheadend (0963&000000/FFFF/1078/5F:4EECFF2474B695F311601B1F10FEE597): found (550 ms) by Reader-3 2014/10/29 22:00:25 8684F0 c tvheadend (0963&000000/FFFF/1078/5F:317F4F9D53EFF4651154D6AE255C1C69): found (322 ms) by Reader-3 2014/10/29 22:00:33 8684F0 c tvheadend (0963&000000/FFFF/1078/5F:F57B5DB8FAD2FE3BF2EAFD337302FA84): not found (348 ms) by Reader-3
Then the stream freezes and the easiest way to restart is to change channel:
2014/10/29 22:00:55 8684F0 c tvheadend (0963&000000/FFFF/1796/5F:4E5C086C78481F0E459B378B24913411): found (85 ms) by Reader-3 2014/10/29 22:00:57 8684F0 c tvheadend (0963&000000/FFFF/1796/5F:EB54133E837434FA002F8D0A9AAFCEB6): found (259 ms) by Reader-3
Where it starts streaming again, then i can switch back to the original channel and its fine again until the next packet lost.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Shouldnt the stream resume automatically?
Is there anything I can do about it?
Many thanks in advance

The stream should resume after a cwc error.
do you have a old version of tvheadend? Try the latest unstable
0963 has short cycles and requires very good timing options for a stable service, i guess you use cacheex
try add a 30ms delay on direct hits in cach so tvheadend dont get the cwc to fast,

Thanks for the thoughts, I'll give them a try!
EDIT: Which parameter do I need to change for the 30ms delay?
I've just tried enabling cacheex and so far I haven't had a glitch.

Hello Guys
I'm having the same problem, after a not found key the stream freezes and the only solution is to change the channel.
I'm using the lastes git build.

Hi,
I suffer the same problem.
I must change to other channel, and then change back to the "frozen" channel.
I always use latest tvheadend from repository (actually 3.9.2332)
using XBMC 13.2 as frontend, and connecting tvheadend to OSCAM using newcamd.

Same problem here as well.
Added oscam and tvheadend logs.
After a random amount of time the channel cannot be descrambled anymore for some reason. I'm running 3.9.2182 with OpenELEC 5 (Kodi). OpenELEC 4 had an older version (3.4 or 3.5) which worked fine. So it looks like it started somewhere in 3.9.
Can you please help?
p.s.: I deleted some stuff out of the tvheadend log, because it was just channel switching. The last channel was the 24 kitchen one which failed descramling after some minutes.

I also have this issue using "newcamd" in tvheadend.
After a random amount of time, newcamd fails to retrieve an ECM response, so the channel fails to decrypt.
TVHeadend then doesn't attempt to retrieve a new ECM until I switch channel, which then decrypts fine, but then its just a waiting game until it happens again.
I can't use the schedule recordings feature, as they fail after 15 mins because of the above issue.
Is there any was to set a timeout for ECM responses, i.e. force it to update every 1-2 seconds regardless of response?
I'm using TVH build: 3.9.2243~g811eeb4.
output log here: http://pastebin.com/4jEfVak5
Thanks.
UPDATE:
I have changed the stream profile timeouts from 0 (unlimited) to 1 second.
This now restarts the stream on an error, but I still get pauses in the stream while it retrieves a new key.

Seems everyone have the same problem ....
I have the latest version installed, but after random time some channels simply stops to descramble.
I have added multiply newcamd lines from different servers, but not solved the problem.
If descrambler does not get a key, does not jump to other server to try to get the key from it.
Simply stops.

did anyone ever find a solution to this ? i seem to get this problem quite frequently but it does correct itself, sometimes takes 15 minutes though. out of multiple channels streaming, there are only 3 channels this happens to !
i tried setting the timeout to 1 second on the stream options and ticking restart on error but this doesnt seem to clear it..
Thanks,

Yupp ... Still not solved in my server ...
BUT ... I think the problem is in oscam.
I connected 3 oscam server (newcamd and also cccam lines separately tested) does the same error !!!
Oscam to oscam does not give the key. Simply gives a "not found (0 ms)" answer.
If it is a cccam client .. it's Ok. But oscam to oscam N line ... a problem.
Same here in tvheadend ...
Will try from cccam to give an N line to tvheadend ... or from a newcamd server ... maybe it will work.
Just dont have time now for that ...
Will be back soon ... (2-3 weeks maybe)
