Problems with capmt in oscam
Added by Stefan Preisinger over 10 years ago
Hello guys,
i have a problem with my capmt connection.
oscamlog says: ERROR: Can't open device /tmp/virtual_adapter/demux0 (errno=2 No such file or directory)
- in /tmp the virtual_adapter folder does not exist.
the capmt connection in tvh is green.
What could be wrong?

Seems like a error with the dvb tuners firmware..
are you shure the dvb card is working properly?

The TV-Card is running very good - i am using the cwc client at the moment, descrambling is also good. But i want to use cccam at the server side, not newcamd.
Anyone got some ideas?

Thanks for this suggestion but the thread is 2 years old. And also my openelec configuration runs "out of the box"
?!?

Nothing has changed in this 2 years regarding socket, cccam and tvheadend..
openelec has a closed filesystem hard to do any changes there, why would you need cccam? Oscam can do all the things cccam can do and much more..
recomended is to use oscam..
next time dont leave out vital information like os you are running this on.

Like you can see in my first post i still use oscam on my client. I just said i want to use cccam at the server side, not at the client side.
Actually i use an openelec system which is working. now i want to use a "tvh-server" based on ubuntu server 14.04.
I am Sorry if anything was unclear!

I dont think you are familiar with tvheadend..
The client for tvheadend is inbuilt. You only need 1 server that holdes your cards, shares or whatever.. you then has 2 option use the newcamd client inside tvheadend or use the capmt socket.
To use the socket, your card server needs to be located on same system as the tvheadend..
Both cccam and oscam has newcamd support and socket.. recomended is to use oscam.
but this is of topic. Your initial problem is related to firmware for the tuner, not the descrambling.

Ok, to clarify that i am familiar to tvh and oscam and other complex things:
I have an "oscam-server" running on an openwrt-router with my local card in a smargo mouse, working like a charm.
This server actually delivers a cccam and an newcamd share.
My goal is to cancel the newcamd share and only use the cccam share with another oscam local on my client with a cccam reader and dvbapi
Then I have 2 Configurations at my site.
First one:
Openelec 4.01 with TVH and OSCam on an Asrock 330HT with 2 USB TT-3600 TV-Cards.
Anything works fine with dvbapi
Second Config:
HP N54L Server with OS Ubuntu Server 14.04
Internal DVBSky S952
TVHeadend 3.4.28
oscam-svn 20140517
This is my new "TV-Server" where several XBMC-Clinets (Raspberry etc.) can get their Live-TV and Media Content.
DVBapi not working with the given error in OSCAM-Log:
ERROR: Can't open device /tmp/virtual_adapter/demux0 (errno=2 No such file or directory)
Using TVH and CWC (The Newcamd share of my "oscam-server") works like a charm.
So anyone got an idea whats goning wrong here?

Paste your oscam config for dvbapi here:
are you shure the permissions are right for the oscam and tvheadend user?

SO here we go, found the solution... such a dumb thing.
I used the official oscam-ppa to install my oscam server. it was linked to the wrong build - there was the samygo svbapi activated which is hardlinked to the /tmp/virtual_adapter/demux0 device...
Built my own oscam, working like a charm!
Nevertheless I have to say thanks!
