Descramble using Digital Devices Flex CI?
Added by Mikael Lehmann almost 11 years ago
Hello!
Before I close down this project with OpenELEC and Tvheadend I want to be sure I make the right decisions.
I have an HTPC that I have run MediaPortal on for about a year and everything has worked very well but because it would be really nice to avoid Windows, I have always glanced at other options and finally decided to try OpenELEC together with Tvheadend.
My TV card is the Digital Devices Cine CT V6 - Twin Tuner Card DVB-C/T with associated CI-module (DD Flex CI - Common Interface Expansion Module)
I am using the latest version of OpenELEC.
Everything has worked very well, I have no problem with the free channels but I can not find how to proceed to decode scrambled channels using the CI-module. I've looked and looked for a solution unsuccessfully and are gradually realizing that Tvheadend are not supporting the DD Flex CI-module? Or have I missed something?
Grateful for all the help I can get.
Thank you.

The DD CI module can be used only if it is permanently linked to one adapter. You have to change the driver setting for your card so all devices are pupulated in same folder e.g. /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0, frontend1... (You will probably need latest drivers) Than you may link the CI to the specified adapter. There is no way to use it in multipurpose mode so far (even not with VDR). Besides I don't know ho far TvHeadend supports CI at all.

Your looking for something called OSCam.
Don't go changing your drivers round just get oscam to read your ci card then link tvheadend to oscam.
