Bug #5986
Unable to discover tuners on the network after TVH upgrade
0%
Description
Hi,
first of all, I really want to express my appreciation for the software! I'm running Tvheadend and using it on 3 Apple TVs + Kodis on PCs at my home, and it's really awesome!
I have Kathrein EXIP 414/E SAT-IP server, and HDHomeRun for DVB-T2 on my network.
Previously, it worked without an issue, but after upgrading TVH to the mentioned version, the "TV adapters" tab in Configuration stays empty. And I don't know how to debug why.
When I run Tvheadend with --satip_xml pointing to http://192.168.0.12/rootDescr, it works fine and I can see the SAT-IP server in TV adapters.
Unfortunately, there's no such option for HDHomeRun, but when I run hdhomerun_config discover on the command line on the same machine where Tvheadend is, it can also find it at 192.168.0.13.
I also disabled UFW just to be sure (ufw status shows "inactive").
This is what the About screen shows as configure arguments. I don't know what "--disable-hdhomerun_static" means.
Configure arguments: --build=x86_64-linux-gnu --prefix=/usr --includedir=${prefix}/include --mandir=${prefix}/share/man --infodir=${prefix}/share/info --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var --disable-silent-rules --libdir=${prefix}/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu --libexecdir=${prefix}/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu --disable-maintainer-mode --disable-dependency-tracking --prefix=/usr --enable-hdhomerun_client --disable-hdhomerun_static --disable-dvbscan --enable-libav --disable-ffmpeg_static --enable-libx264 --disable-libx264_static --enable-libx265 --disable-libx265_static --enable-libvpx --disable-libvpx_static --enable-libtheora --disable-libtheora_static --enable-libvorbis --disable-libvorbis_static --enable-libfdkaac --disable-libfdkaac_static --enable-libopus --disable-libopus_static --enable-vaapi --enable-nvenc --enable-omx --enable-dvbcsa --enable-dvben50221 --enable-libsystemd_daemon --enable-pcre2 --enable-pngquant --enable-ddci --python=/usr/bin/python3 Compiler: Using C compiler: cc Using C flags: -g -O2 -fstack-protector-strong -Wformat -Werror=format-security Using LD flags: -Wl,-Bsymbolic-functions -Wl,-z,relro -lhdhomerun -ldvbcsa Build for arch: x86_64 Binaries: Using PYTHON: /usr/bin/python3 Using GZIP: gzip Using BZIP2: bzip2 Options: pie yes ccdebug no cwc yes capmt yes constcw yes linuxdvb yes satip_server yes satip_client yes hdhomerun_client yes hdhomerun_static no iptv yes tsfile yes dvbscan no timeshift yes trace yes imagecache yes avahi yes zlib yes libav yes ffmpeg_static no libx264 yes libx264_static no libx265 yes libx265_static no libvpx yes libvpx_static no libtheora yes libtheora_static no libvorbis yes libvorbis_static no libfdkaac yes libfdkaac_static no nvenc yes qsv no libmfx_static yes inotify yes epoll yes uriparser yes ccache no tvhcsa yes bundle no pngquant yes dvbcsa yes dvben50221 no kqueue no dbus_1 yes android no tsdebug no gtimer_check no slow_memoryinfo no libsystemd_daemon yes pcloud_cache yes execinfo yes mmx yes sse2 yes W_unused_result yes fdatasync yes getloadavg yes atomic32 yes atomic64 yes atomic_time_t yes bitops64 yes lockowner yes qsort_r yes stime yes gmtoff yes recvmmsg yes sendmmsg yes ifnames yes py_gzip yes bin_pkg_config yes bin_xgettext yes bin_msgmerge yes bin_gzip yes bin_bzip2 yes ssl yes linuxdvbapi yes libhdhomerun yes upnp yes inotify_h yes inotify_init1 yes epoll_create1 yes mpegts yes mpegts_dvb yes Packages: openssl 1.0.2g zlib 1.2.8 liburiparser 0.8.4 avahi-client 0.6.32-rc libavfilter 5.40.101 libswresample 1.2.101 libavresample 2.1.0 libswscale 3.1.101 libavformat 56.40.101 libavcodec 56.60.100 libavutil 54.31.100 dbus-1 1.10.6 libsystemd 229 Installation paths: Prefix: /usr Binaries: ${prefix}/bin Libraries: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu Data files: ${prefix}/share Man pages: /usr/share/man
So I'm not sure how I should start debugging this and what's wrong with my network or OS. I'm not blaming TVH 4.2.9 per se, because I also changed my network infrastructure around the same time. I'm running Eero devices as my DHCP server/router/Wi-Fi AP, but I don't know what could cause the problems, especially when running "hdhomerun_config discover" shows the DVB-T2 device. There's a UPnP option in the settings, and it's turned On.
Can I run some other sanity checks on my network to see if it works as expected?
Thank you.
