Thank you for the manual build instructions but a little incomplete over there... ex. `Sudo apt instal libpcre2-dev`. e.g. missing some proper casing and and `l`... easily fixable however this is a big chore for those not experienced with compiling and the innards of tvheadend. Eventually I'll get around to contributing but now my server feels naked without tvheadend! and so does my television.
Regardless less than a week ago I installed tvheadend with pre built packages and went to reinstall it in Bionic since that machine had to be dumped from scratch to put in a SAS controller. Build instruction at https://tvheadend.org/boards/4/topics/24116 show a few dependencies that don't exist. ex.
```
$ sudo apt install dvb-apps libva-dev libva-drm1 libva-x11-1
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package libva-drm1
E: Unable to locate package libva-x11-1
```
The main issue I think is that https://apt.tvheadend.org/stable/artifacts/vb doesn't even exist ... so guessing either it's not built yet or that particular build failed in the last week or so.
Anxiously await the packages to show up instead of attempting to use bintray again.

I am confused...
http://apt.tvheadend.org/stable/dists/bionic/main/binary-amd64/Packages
Contains
Filename: artifacts/vb/w9s9cwg1/tvheadend-dbg_4.2.8-4~g9f7ab681a~bionic_amd64.deb
which just points to file that doesn't exist.
There are some bionic packages in other folders http://apt.tvheadend.org/artifacts/w4/1114nn4l/

Exactly, build it yourself and will be more optimised for your system then taken from some repo, where multi capability is more important.

Same here a bit since I'm new. We'll have to wait for the maintainer of the bionic build to show up. It's still pretty early in my time zone and it's mid-afternoon at UTC right now... so hopefully someone can fix the `Packages` file to point to a build that exists or see why the `vb/w9s9cwg1/tvheadend-dbg_4.2.8-4~g9f7ab681a` failed to post... again a guess on my part on the latter.
Patience is probably key here for this awesome project. Thank you for opening the issue too as I was in process of finishing up the server and getting ready to sign up. Your issue showed up before I could even type anything.

That's an end goal of mine however not when testing out a project. I've had exactly 6 days of success between using RG-6 QS, one inline amp where it doesn't crash tvheadend on weak signals. Still have a bunch of repeating issues that I've read about over the last few years about CPU usage going wild but worked-around that by restarting the service daily.
Anyhow still speeding up that server and entry level users shouldn't need to have a huge, and I do mean huge, learning curve on what is optimized (optimised for our English friends across the pond). May have to reconnect my DVR appliance in the meantime.

Tried the unstable repo.. that works
deb https://apt.tvheadend.org/unstable bionic main
I will wait a couple of days, then try to switch back to the stable repo.
Thanks all!

This issue appears to be resolved with current http://apt.tvheadend.org/stable/dists/bionic/main/binary-amd64/Packages (15-March-219 12:48) and the path at http://apt.tvheadend.org/artifacts/71/w8gtpfgp/tvheadend-dbg_4.2.8-21~g0c36205f7~bionic_amd64.deb (I didn't check earlier)
Note:- Unstable has a few differences that may make downgrading to a stable release a little difficult. When I have time I'll port that production ready only machine back and install a development machine for unstable.
