Recently my old tuner died so i bought another one based on new chip RTL2832. Now im facing with issues which i cant resolve by myself. Please help and tell where are problems.
SOC - Cubieboard 2 with latest armbian kernel 4.14.15
Tvheadend 4.2.5
On w_scan no channels at all but in tvheadend found 3 muxes (all what in my region is possible) but ... please see attachments
High count of BER and very bad screen at all
Sorry for my english :-)
On my last configuration (old tuner and lower version of tvheadend 3.x if i remember correctly) i had all working (even w_scan)

I think it's a driver problem.
Either way, the device where you have it installed is powerful enough to manage it?

device is powered by active usb hub, the same as before
how to ensure it is 100% driver problem? buy another tuner with different chipset?

Hi,
This is from my personal experience: forget (if you can) USB tuners... they have a very low quality. Also forget PCI tuners, as they are "complex" to install and maintain (huge boxes as server). I recomend to use external network tuners. Both, Silicondust HDHomeRun and Digital Devices OctopusNET work very well at 24x7. And both have support in TVH!
Using these tuners you can run your servers (yes! more than one at time sharing the same tuners) inside small devices (NAS, Pi, even Android) with a reliable tuners... up to 12-16 tuners without problems.
Belive me!

I have a TRIAX TSS 400 and I am very happy. Mono Polimorph you plan some UI patches for tvheadend as a satip client (not as a server?)

Sorry external devices would not work in my configuration because all (NAT, printserver, firewall, router blah blah blah ....) i have in one single black box 12cm x 30 cm x 30cm. Only USB devices fit into it. All work on cubieboard2 powered by armbian.

- Status changed from New to Invalid
It does not appear like tvheadend issue.
