Description

Please pull down the updated pre-defined mux list for the USA/Canada. Neither country currently uses channels 52-69. (frequencies 698Mhz and above)

The list was added to the upstream https://github.com/oliv3r/dtv-scan-tables repo as us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB-062009

This should replace the us-ATSC-center-frequencies-8VSB - but for some reason it was added as an additional pre-defined mux list. It would be better of that were named US-ATSC-2017

Also - as a note - the US will begin moving station frequencies later this year into next year as part of the incentive auction repack. This will happen in phases, but will require most markets to rescan for new services(channels) a few times over the next 3 years. Beginning in 2020, the US will no longer uses channels 37 and above. (frequencies 608Mhz and above)

One could also make a pre-defined mux for US-ATSC-2020 with the smaller list.

The complete list of stations changing channels can be seen here: https://www.rabbitears.info/repackchannels.php

That only deals with satellite - not with the over the air (ATSC) signals.

And the issues for the USA and Canada is stations will be moving frequencies over the next 3 years in 10 phases. So users will need to rescan when they "lose" a channel.

It just makes sense to update the pre-defined ATSC mux list to the shorter channels 2-51 for now to speed up the scan process.

My point is the following frequencies from that list are no longer in use:

A 701028615 8VSB
A 707028615 8VSB
A 713028615 8VSB
A 719028615 8VSB
A 725028615 8VSB
A 731028615 8VSB
A 737028615 8VSB
A 743028615 8VSB
A 749028615 8VSB
A 755028615 8VSB
A 761028615 8VSB
A 767028615 8VSB
A 773028615 8VSB
A 779028615 8VSB
A 785028615 8VSB
A 791028615 8VSB
A 797028615 8VSB
A 803028615 8VSB

Those have not been used in NOrth American television since 2011 - leaving them in the pre-defined list causes a tuner to waste time scanning frequencies that are not valid. Therefore - let's get the list updated with those removed. :-)
