Description

I tried adding my IPTV service providers m3u file to tvheadend. used the latest 4.1 branch and the Automatic IPTV network
It contains about 5000 entries, which are imported in a matter of seconds and the muxes show up.
However, it tries to scan the services one by one in order to add the services.
This will take aproximately 3-4 days for all these channels.

It should be possible to add the services without any scanning.

  • Status changed from New to Rejected

Turn off 'Scan after creation' and set 1 (or your service ID) to 'Service ID' field in the automatic network settings.

I would also advise to change the "Maximum timeout (seconds):" to something lower, e.g. "5". The list from my IPTV provider has also 5000+ entries and not all of them always work but this way the scanner will move on quicker.

Doesn't work anyway
It adds the service but Network ID and Transport ID shows 65535 and fails to play.
Manually scanning services fixes that problem so this is still a valid request if you ask me.

Thanks Andreas for your addition.
I haven't been able to get it to work and even if it was possible, editing the Service ID doesn't sound as the way to make this straigtht forward and user friendly.
There should be a way to simply and blindly import the m3u file to a service, like the kodi plugin "IPTV simple client" does.
If you have more than a handful of channels it is a bare neccesity. Scanning will take hours/days and doesn't add anything. There is no such thing as multiple services on muxes for IPTV.
