Description

I have tvheadend running on synology NAS (4 DVB-T tuners) and a Raspberry PI (LibreElec with 1 DVB-S tuner). Using my WDTV box I can see files as soon as they are created on the respective shared folder. I have confirmed that with a 90 second delay to starting the playback I can watch what is effectively a timeshift of a recorded program. What I would like to have is a recording profile that can overwrite the created file, this would allow me to have as an example stream.ts as my filename which I then could playback from the WDTV (and possibly other devices). It would effectively provide the same function as the play option but allow a different device to receive and show the stream. It would certainly be a useful function to allow IPTV streams to be directly played.

After I read back my request I realised it could have described better!

Basically the feature is when you select the play icon on a respective channel, instead of the stream opening up on the device you are using, write the stream to a file in the same way as a recording is carried out. The recording name could be the network you have selected the channel from. If this is added it would allow compatible devices to live stream the channel by opening the created file.
