Bug #3847
Force scan does not start scanning?
0%
Description
I am on 4.1-2111~gcb0386a and Force Scan does not trigger scanning of all muxes.
In fact, even if I disable "Skip scanning when TVH starts" and then restart TVH no scanning starts.
I have 93 muxes available and the scan queue shows 93 in the queue.
I see that there was in an issue with previously but should have been fixed in 4.1-1943-g10f1326 (https://tvheadend.org/issues/3754).

There must be something bad - probably the mux cannot be subcribed (no assigned inputs / adapters or so). Note that the scan might be delayed up to 2 minutes when the input (adapter) is not available when the scan is triggered.

He he now I am somewhat embarrased... I haven't upgraded TVH for a while until I did it today and there are obviously a LOT of new and nice features since my last upgrade 3-4 months ago. :-)
One of the new settings are are tick boxes for "Initial Scan" and "Idle Scan" for each adapter (see attached screenshot). These seem to be unticked by default so even though I tried to force a scan on network level nothing happened.
I enabled both of them on 4 of my 8 DVB-adapters and voilaaa! Mux scan started.
Case closed.

This is really weird. These both options should be 'ON' by default (and after upgrade).

Yes agree but I have no clue to what caused all my tuners to have these disabled.
My scanning went through nice and easily and all channel updates were properly discovered.
I think we can close this issue now?
