tvheadend causes USB device to 'hang'

Realtek RTL2832

I can reproduce this failure as follows;
- Reboot to restart the USB device
- Use w_scan to show that the receiver is working and that there is a signal
- start tvheadend and wait for 'scan no data, failed' from tvheadend
- re run w_scan and observe 'ERROR: Sorry - i couldn't get any working frequency/transponder' message

It looks like that the kernel driver is broken somehow.
