If I enable the "Debug to syslog" option on the web interface (transitory setting) I can't see any extra message on the syslog coming from tvheadend. I get them if I use the '--syslog' option on the command-line on its startup. It looks a bug.

It does something different than you expect. I added 'enable syslog' to v4.1-1073-g53f5856 which explains 'debug to syslog' functionality. It's dependant. Debug to syslog means log also messages with the DEBUG type to syslog, but if syslog is not enabled, it does nothing.

I understand the original meaning of the option but the new implementation looks strange: if I enable 'Debug su syslog' the page is reloaded with such flag disabled and just half form then before...
