Bug #180
EPG includes entries from disabled services
0%
Description
In Australia, some muxes contain multiple services with exactly the same name (e.g. ABC). Because of this, autorec entries created to record shows on these channels will create duplicate dvr entries, leading to two simultaneous recordings for one show. This is merely an annoyance as it only ties up one tuner as the two services are on the same mux.
However, it would be nice if the EPG didn't include events from disabled services so that this problem can be averted by simply disabling the duplicated services.

as far as i know epg is displayed for channels and not for all services. if you have channels that point into disabled service you must manually remove it.
if you have channels that have exactly same content and you can watch both of them use merge button.
hope i helped.

Hmmm... it doesn't make sense to me. I have no duplicate channel entries in my Configuration -> Channels tab. And yet I still get events showing up more than once for some channels in the EPG. Attaching a screenshot showing what I'm talking about...

This looks a bit strange.
Do you use XMLTV too?
Nevertheless I've added a filter that filter out EPG updates from disabled services

Thanks, I'll give that a test.
I was using tv_grab_au (shepherd) and I initially thought the XMLTV was causing the duplication so I disabled it. However, the problem continued.
